WORLD CUP HISTORY
The inaugural University World Cup was held back New Zealand back in 1986 when the International Federation saw the need in creating an international championship for it’s players at the Tertiary education level.

Since that inaugural tournament, five further World Cups have been held, with 16 different nations taking part over the years.

As Rugby League enters it’s Centenary year in 2008 in Australia, the World Cup will again return to the Southern Hemisphere where the best eight Student nations will take part.
